The Costa Rican Lutheran Church officially opened on June 28, 2012 the installation of solar panels at its headquarters in Paso Ancho, which was put in place to address the threat of climate change and its consequences for the biosphere, and especially the most impoverished people of the earth.

This year the celebration for Reformation Day took place throughout ILCO’s communities, where members of our partner churches of the Latin American Council of Churches (CLAI) were invited to a day of celebration and communion to honor the 494 years of Protestant Reformation.
A delegation from Zion and Canyon Lake Churches in San Antonio, Texas visited Costa Rica in order to participate in activities related to indigenous matters, like the production of artisan crafts, a work project, and sharing communion.
ILCO has been promoting the production of artisan handicrafts in our communities of faith with the goal of opening new commercial spaces in which marginalized families can improve their quality of life.
The Evangelical Lutheran Church of the United States of America (ELCA) held a new Global Mission Gathering that was held at Zion Lutheran Church in San Antonio, TX. Lutheran leaders met to discuss and continue the important work of global action in order to strengthen the relationships with the Lutheran community worldwide.
